IPO GMP Guru is an educational research platform. Nothing on this site is personalized investment advice. Always consult a registered financial adviser before investing.
Not a registered investment adviser
IPO GMP Guru is not registered as an investment adviser or analyst with any regulatory body, including:
- Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)
- United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
- Financial Conduct Authority (FCA, United Kingdom)
- Securities and Futures Commission (SFC, Hong Kong)
- Any other national or sub-national financial regulator
We do not provide personalized investment advice, portfolio management, or any regulated financial services. Information on this site is for general educational and research purposes.
No guaranteed returns
Investing in IPOs carries the risk of total loss of principal. There is no guarantee that:
- An IPO will list at a premium to the issue price.
- A company will perform well after listing.
- Share price will recover from a listing-day loss.
- You will receive allotment in an over-subscribed IPO.
Past performance of IPOs — whether individual issues or the IPO market as a whole — is not a reliable indicator of future performance. Every IPO should be evaluated on its own merits.
Grey Market Premium (GMP) disclaimer
GMP data on this site is an unofficial, unregulated market signal observed in informal trading prior to an IPO's official listing. Key points:
- SEBI (India) and other regulators do not monitor or enforce grey-market transactions.
- GMP values can change rapidly and may be manipulated by a small number of participants.
- GMP does not guarantee a listing price. Actual listing can vary by 10% to 40% from the implied GMP estimate.
- For SME IPOs and thinly-traded issues, GMP is particularly unreliable.
- We do not facilitate, endorse or participate in grey-market transactions.
Use GMP as one of many data points — never as the basis for an investment decision.
Data accuracy
We aggregate IPO data from public filings and market sources and update it twice daily. Despite our care, data may occasionally be stale, incorrect, or revised by the issuer. Before applying or investing, verify all material details — price band, dates, lot size, financial information — with:
- The issuer's official prospectus (DRHP / RHP in India, S-1 in US, prospectus in UK/HK).
- The stock exchange's official listing page (BSE, NSE, Nasdaq, NYSE, LSE, HKEX).
- Your broker or financial adviser.
Company reviews and opinions
Long-form IPO reviews represent our editorial view based on public filings and comparable-company analysis. They are not buy, sell, or hold recommendations. The assumptions underlying any review may prove incorrect. We do not take positions in securities we cover.
Third-party content
Some data displayed on the Site is sourced from third parties (exchanges, registrars, market observation). We do not control and are not responsible for errors, omissions, or outages at these sources. We attempt to reconcile discrepancies but cannot guarantee consistency.
Jurisdiction-specific notes
India: Retail investor participation in IPOs is regulated by SEBI. Use only SEBI-approved intermediaries (brokers, registrars, UPI apps) for applications. Grey-market trading is outside SEBI's regulatory perimeter.
United States: IPO allocations are restricted to approved brokerage customers. Subject to SEC Rule 144 and FINRA rules around IPO distribution. Non-US residents may have additional tax and reporting obligations.
United Kingdom: Retail participation in IPOs is limited; most UK issues are institutionally allocated. FCA approval of a prospectus does not constitute endorsement.
Hong Kong: HKEX listings are regulated by the SFC. Retail tranche allocation via eIPO. Foreign investors should consult local brokerage rules.
Professional help
Before investing any material sum in an IPO, we strongly recommend consulting:
- A SEBI-registered investment adviser (India) or equivalent regulator in your jurisdiction.
- A qualified tax adviser for capital-gains and cross-border tax implications.
- Your bank or broker for allocation mechanics.
